Search the mysterious desert island with his people, residents and curious ghost snake figures. Twisted Land: The Shadow City is a hidden object adventure game from Alawar Entertainment, the developer of hit games as Snark Busters and mania and the series of Farm Frenzy. The game has the same high quality as other Alawar titles, with a first-class game, the graphics and sound. However, this game features the supernatural and psychological themes are darker than the previous games.
You take on the role of a materialistic treasure asylum, diving off the coast of Spain with his wife Angel of maintaining your business. Even after Angel's admonition not to be recovering treasures stranded in their dives, still go ahead and collect these artifacts. This time, one of the things we found is a strange figure of a snake. Suddenly, you lose control of the boat and washed ashore on a mysterious island. Unfortunately, Angel did not end in the same part of the island like you, so he set out to find her.
Twisted Land brings you to the mysterious and strange places, from a subterranean door carved with the symbol creepy snake, a cruise abandoned, and a city mist whose inhabitants all seem to have disappeared. You'll also find more of the figures of serpents and encounter ghostly apparitions and supernatural characters. You get dragged further into a surreal adventure in his quest to find his wife and leave the island.
Much of the game is shrouded in fog and has a dark and spooky feel to it, so it fits the theme of the game perfectly. Although dark, the art is detailed and well made, representing each scene in a style that fits well. The soundtrack is also good and appropriate to the setting. The haunting music in itself will give you goosebumps, but this may be a awkward silence until you click something and the music starts again (which may be intentional).
The gameplay in the twisting of Earth is more or less one would expect in a scene-based point and click adventure game style. You have a main interface where you see the current environment, as well as objects interest (that glow you're playing in an informal way.) Clicking on these objects or are caught closer so you can interact with, or throw a scene of objects hidden puzzle. Sometimes, the interaction with these objects will need to have previously picked up a particular tool, such as a screwdriver to remove the skin laptop.
Hidden object scenes feature work that is clean and crisp, and the hidden objects that are detailed and not too difficult to select. It seems that these scenes do not take the time to resolve, such as some of the hidden object games. This may be a good thing, as the story focused on developing Instead of squinting to find a few dozen hidden objects. The various mini-puzzles in the game are primarily based on logic, and are also very interesting.
The twisted history of the land is very strong, and it is obvious that the game is very story driven. Every time you move to a new scene, or click on an object of interest, you will receive a first-person narrative, whether the tie in the object with the story, or advance the plot. After every few scenes, may also enjoy a lively scene. These animations are flashback scenes of his time with his wife Angel every time you find an object that belongs to it. As you can imagine, these scenes draw and will provide a great interest in how the story unfolds. One thing missing from this game, although the voice acting. But considering how bad the voice acting is some of the hidden object games, not voices that can not be a bad thing ...
This game does not have a very complex game or puzzle, but that captivates with a story that flows as the gaming experience. The premise revolves around the supernatural and an issue of missing persons mystery, and you like it if you like Similar games like Mystery Case Files: Huntsville and Edgar Allan Poe, The Black Cat. The basic version of the game is not out yet, but you can get the Collector's Edition PC game which includes exclusive content such as an extra chapter, new puzzles and more.
Rating: 4.0/5.0
